    In April 2023, you are invited to take part in 2040 Now, a university-wide initiative to envision what our sustainable future will look like in 2040 when NYU plans to be climate neutral. 2040 Now will have both centrally-led engagement efforts along with school-led initiatives. Complete this form to submit an activity you'd like to lead, propose an exhibit for an available space, or request additional consultation. Please share this form with your colleagues!
  • About 2040 Now

    What: A celebration and call to action for what we as a community can do to confront the climate crisis. 

    When: April 17-21, 2023

    Key Themes:

    • Sustainable Futurism. What will our sustainable future look like?
    • Combating Climate Despair. How can we highlight action to overcome climate anxiety?
    • Interdisciplinary Environmentalism. How do we center issues of race, justice, and health with environmental action?
    • Policy and Direct Action. How can the week serve as a testbed for long-term policy and actions?

    Ways to Participate

    • Curricular or Co-Curricular Activities. Develop exercises or projects based around the themes of 2040 Now to include in your spring syllabus, broadcast events and activities happening during 2040 Now, include the 2040 Now website in class materials, invite NYU Sustainability to speak during a class, or run a one-day class discussion around the themes of 2040 Now.
    • Exhibitions and Installations. Create visual, large-scale, and interactive exhibits and installations. 
    • Competitions, Events, or Workshops. Plan a friendly competition or other type of activity that incentivizes actions, behaviors, or creative exploration throughout the week.
