Daniel Boone High School MCJROTC program has a storied history of excellence. MCJROTC regulations require each cadet to adhere to military standards of grooming and appearance. Proper wearing of the uniform and a cadet's conduct are a significant part of a student's grade. Cadets will be taught how to correctly wear the uniform and will be receive instruction on proper grooming standards. The following rules are applicable to all cadets.
Earrings: Male cadets are not allowed to wear earrings in uniform. Female cadets may wear one gold post or pearl earring in each ear lobe while in dress uniform, but may not wear earrings while in the digital camouflage uniform.
Hair: Male haircuts shall be cut evenly graduated from zero (no hair) to no more than 2 inches on top. Hair will NOT be blocked in the back. It will be combed neatly when in uniform. No eccentric 'racing stripes', "tuffs', braids or 'bowl' cuts are authorized.
Female hair should not touch the collar of the uniform. If hair is too long to be worn straight it must be put up into a bun or French braided. Only metal bobby pins may be used. No Scrunchies or hair barrettes are permitted. Pony Tails are not authorized.
Facial Hair: A mustache may be worn as long as it conforms to military standards. Beards/sideburns are not authorized. Cadets are expected to be clean shaven every day.
Physical Training (PT): Friday is PT day. Cadets are expected to dress out in the prescribed PT uniform. PT is a graded event.
Uniforms: Unless otherwise directed by the Instructor staff, the uniform is to be worn on each Wednesday. The uniform will be worn to/from school and throughout the academic day. With permission from an instructor, a cadet may be permitted to change out of uniform for specific classes such as Gym, Construction, or Agriculture, but must change back into uniform at the end of the class.
Piercings: With the exception of earrings as described above, no visible body piercings are permitted at Daniel Boone High School (to include tongue rings/studs, nose rings/studs, gauges, etc.) New piercings will not be an excuse to wear unauthorized jewelry.
I understand the requirements for participation in the MCJROTC program at Daniel Boone High School. By our signatures, we agree to the provisions described above.
