Open to all breeds as allowable by AHBA. 
Entries are limited to 50 runs per judge.

Test/Trial Hours: 7:00AM - 1 hour after the last run.

HTAD will be Course #2. HRD Course and outline attached.

Entries: All entries must be received, mail or online, by August 1, 2022. All entries received after the deadline will incur a$5.00/entry fee. Day-of entries will be allowed as space permits for an additional $5.00/entry. For more information please contact Caitlin Bailey at secretary@workingbeauceron.com. Preference will be given to entries made for Beaucerons up until the entry deadline.

Rules and Regulations:

1. The Trial Program and Junior Herding Dog Program are open to all dogs 9 months of age or older. The Herding Capability Test Program is open to herding breeds and multipurpose breeds with herding background on the list at   the end of the Test Program rules, six months of age and older.
2. Spayed bitches and neutered dogs may participate.
3. Bitches in heat may take part. In trial classes, bitches in heat need not wait until all other dogs have participated. In test classes, bitches in heat must wait until all other dogs have participated.
4. Dogs must be sound and in good health. Any dog which appears to be unfit will be removed at the judge's discretion; examples are lameness, injury, illness, and advanced pregnancy.
5. Owners of participating dogs need not be members of any club or organization.
6. A dog owned or co-owned by the judge or any member of the judge's immediate family or household may not be evaluated by that judge, nor may a judge evaluate a dog of which that judge has been the owner, co-owner or primary trainer/handler within the last six months.

Herding Trial Champion rosettes available to those completing their championship at the trial. You must let the secretary know with your entry if you hope to achieve this at the trial.

Concessions: Lunch will be available for purchase at the trial site both days. Please support the group who will be providing this service.

Notice to Exhibitors

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians' recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.
STOCK: Ducks will be Indian Runner/or Call ducks. Five ducks per run trial classes. Sheep will be Katahdin and Katahdin crosses. 3-5 sheep per run test and trial HTD & HTAD classes. 10 sheep per run for HRD classes.
A dog may not be entered at different levels on the same kind of stock on the same trial course at the same trial, with the exception of a dog entered in a "mixed stock" class. The dog may, however, be moved up upon the completion of a title. A dog may not be entered more than one time in the same class at the same trial.
A medication fee of $50, or the Veterinarian's bill, or the cost of the animal will be charged to the owner of any dog causing damage to livestock, whether such damage is caused directly or indirectly by the dog. Please read the agreement on the bottom of the entry form.
Replacement value: Ducks $35.00 each; Sheep $300.00 each.
When not competing, dogs must be confined or held on leash and kept away from the livestock.
Children must be kept under the control of their parents or guardians at all times and must be kept away from all farm equipment and livestock.
No unauthorized persons or dogs allowed in barn or house.
Wading pools and shade tents will be available for your dogs.

Email will be used as a primary means of communication if an email address is listed on the entry form unless entrant requests otherwise.
Entries not on the provided entry forms are not acceptable.
All entry fees payable in US funds. Entries without full fees will not be accepted.
Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry. The Secretary will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor may result in the exhibitor's entries being accepted on a CASH ONLY basis.
Errors on Entry Blanks: Owners are responsible for errors in filling out entry forms, whoever may make such errors. No entry fee will be refunded in case of any such errors after the closing date.
ENTRIES CLOSE Monday, August 1, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. Acknowledgment of entries will be made as soon as practicable.
Declination of entries: WBA may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness, or other cause, and no one shall have recourse against WBA, any official thereof, or any judge.
Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Test/Trial Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the organizing committee, it is impossible to open or complete the test/trial, no refund of entry will be made. Extreme weather conditions, including, but not limited to, snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme temperatures, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, livestock, exhibitors, judges and spectators. The well-being of dogs, livestock, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance. In the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the test/trial before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made.
No refunds will be given for overpayment of fees if the error is less than $10.00. The Working Beauceron Association Inc, Trial Secretary and the Owners of Linden Hollow Farm assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers or spectators, or by any of their dogs or property.

NOTE: A dog must be entered in the name of the person(s) who actually owns it at the time entries are made for the Herding Test or Trial. A Registered Name and Registration number or Tracking Number must be included.

In consideration for participation in an event sanctioned by the American Herding Breed Association (AHBA), I agree to assume all responsibility for any claim, loss or damage, of whatever kind or nature, whether to person or property, which may be caused at or near this event, either directly or indirectly, by me or the dog or dogs I have entered in or brought to this event. I further agree that I will hold the AHBA, its officers, directors, agents and members harmless and defend them from any and all liability for any injury, claim, damage or loss, of whatever kind or nature, whether to person or property, caused at or near this event, whether directly or indirectly, by me or any dog I have entered in or brought to this event. I agree to indemnify the AHBA, its officers, directors, agents and members for any loss, cost or expense including attorneys fees and costs, to which the AHBA, its officers, directors, agents or members might be subject as a result of any claim, suit, loss or damage caused in any way by any act or negligence on my part or on the part of any dog or dogs I have entered in or brought to this event. I acknowledge that while the AHBA may provide sanctioning for this event with regard to the issuing of titles, it does not have and does not exercise control over the conduct of the event or those present.

I CERTIFY that I am the actual owner of the dog or that I am the duly authorized agent of the actual owners whose name I have entered. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I (we)agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the AHBA in effect at the time of this Herding Test or Trial or both, and further agree to be bound by the agreement I printed above. The entry is submitted on the foregoing representation and agreement.

I CERTIFY and represent that the dog or dogs I have entered in or brought to this event is/are not a hazard to other dogs, other animals, or to people.
