Essential Operational Functions:
- Beach Management Staff
- Oversee and set up beach chairs and umbrellas Ensuring all beach equipment is returned and stored away in designated area in an organized manner
- Assuring daily cleaning of chairs and umbrellas is required
- Manage a small staff of three to five beach associates
- Assists with orientation of new employees in a timely and efficient manner
- Greets customers, inform them of rental prices, collects money, makes change and keeps log sheets accurate
- takes daily inventory of damaged merchandise
- Assist guest with any beach needs in a professional, friendly manner including - watersports equipment, towels, lounge chairs, cabanas and umbrellas
- Oversee the general cleanliness and upkeep of the beach area
- Open and close Beach Services Area.
- Maintain knowledge of beach policies, services, and standards
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have a Valid Driver’s License
Must be able to swim.
Must be able to works effectively and efficiently with other department supervisors and consistently demonstrate the ability to solve problems at this level within guidelines.
Must have ability to Unloads Beach Box
- carries umbrellas and chairs to designated area
(8-25 umbrellas, 16-50 chairs)
- Must be able to set-up and maintain beach kids area.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Basic computer skills.
- Must be physically able to work outside on the beach during all weather conditions including hot and humid weather
Should be able to lift 30-50 pounds occasionally or lift up to 100 pounds with co-worker help
- able to stand up and move about the workplace for 8 hours or more.
- Full-Time and Part-time Beach Attendants
The ideal candidates will be fun, friendly and helpful with the ability to change guest experiences by providing a memorable interaction. Should be able to assist guest with any needs they may have while visiting our beach locations.
- Position may require supervisory ability and experience.
Must report to beach managers, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Must be able to set-up and break down beach rentals equipment on a daily basis.
- Must be able to provide beach guests with cheerful, efficient service
- Must be able to maintain positive physical appearance of beach and beach equipment
- Must be able to attend department meetings as assigned by management
- Must have a thorough understanding of Skipper’s Cabanas and Beach Club culture, rules, and regulations
- Must have thorough knowledge of our beach services and how it relates to our daily operations
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to greets customers, inform them of rental prices, money management and exchange currency (gives correct exact change)
- keeps log sheet accurate
- takes daily inventory of damaged merchandise and reports findings to the on duty manager
- Must be able to Drill holes to secure umbrellas firmly in ground
- Opens umbrellas and chairs as needed,and puts returns and secures them at the end of the day
- Must be able to retrieve company property from water when necessary
- Must be able to keep immediate supervisor informed of all relevant information including, but not subject to, diversions from normal activity, and substandard conditions, personnel matters, first aide needs, etc.
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English (highly seeking bilingual services)
- Must be able to unloads beach box and carries umbrellas and chairs to designated area (8-25 umbrellas, 16-50 chairs).
- Must be able to lift 60-75 lbs. occasionally and 30-50 lbs. repeatedly and be able to stand up and
move about the workplace for 8 hours or more.
- Must be physically able to work outside on the beach during all weather conditions including hot and humid weather it is common to be in situations where you may get wet while on duty
- OPERATIONAL HOURS
Skipper’s Beach Services Staff will open 7 days a week.
The hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily—with the last rental at 3:00 PM off-season, and
8:00am to 7:00 pm with the last rental at 5:00 PM in-season.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
On Rain days Skipper’s Management Staff will keep one (1) beach service employee at key location at
all times during scheduled hours. Closing will only be at the discretion of Skipper’s management team
during inclement weather. Hollywood Beach Management Team or its’ designee will confirm closing.
Should Skipper’s Beach Services Staff not open by 4:00 PM due to inclement weather (i.e., cloud cover,
temperatures below 50 degrees, steady rain or thunder and lighting storms, etc.…) the the beach
concessionaire services will be closed for the remainder of the day.
