  • Section 4- Disclosure of Criminal Convictions

    Under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and regulations issued by the Home Office, Gym In Motion Ltd has a duty to ensure that a police check for criminal convictions is undertaken for those working with our clients who gives substantial access to children and vulnerable adults. Applicants will be required to disclose spent convictions. A criminal offence includes all convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings, including driving offences.

    The amendments to the Exeptions Order 1975 (2013) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are "protected" and are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found at the Disclosure and Barring Service website: gov.uk/government/publications .
