    Guidelines for the Applicant - Please read
     
    All sections of this form must be filled in completely (where applicable). Please ensure that you have carefully read and understood the terms and conditions overleaf prior to submitting your application.  
     
    Once accepted you will be asked to provide a photo for your retreat badge. This will have to be worn at all times to access classes and accomodation.

    Application Deadlines
     
    Initial Deadline: 11th July 2022
    Second Deadline: 24th July 2022
     
    Applications can still be made after the various deadlines if places are still available. Priority will be given to applications received before the 11th of July. 
     
    Applicants will be informed of a decision on their application within 14  days of submitting their application (if not earlier).

  • Please indicate your level and experience in relation to the various sports. Please include any details of attending competitions and so on.

  • Clothing Details
  • It is usual that the both men and women will receive some form of Futuwwa clothing. However, please note that the list of items given are not finalised and that students may only receive one items listed below (and not all of them ).
  • BJJ Gi
  • All male students are required to have a Gi to take part in the BJJ sessions. We would encourage students to bring two pairs of Gis to the retreat. A Gi can be ordered through Greensville Trust at an additional cost . [Orders would need to be placed and paid for  six weeks before the retreat start date - Friday, 1st June .]
  • Korean Bow
  • Although bows will be provided at the archery lessons, students have the option to order a Korean bow (£160 or more, plus delivery).  [Orders would need to be placed and paid for  six weeks before the retreat start date - Friday, 1st June ]

  • 6. Disclaimer

  • 1. By signing this disclaimer, participants agree to accept the authority and decisions of Greensville Trust, its group leader, representatives, agents and suppliers during the retreat.

  • 2. Participants acknowledge the risk of injury from the activities involved during this retreat is greater than those encountered in daily life. While particular rules, equipment and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury or death does exist. Participants knowingly and freely assume such risks, both known and unknown and assume and accept full responsibility for their participation.

  • 3. Participants acknowledge that the enjoyment and excitement of the retreat is derived in part from the inherent risks incurred by travelling and undertaking activities during this retreat, greater than those encountered in daily life, and that these inherent risks contribute to such enjoyment and excitement, being a reason for their participation.

  • 4. Participants have notified Greensville Trust of any existing injuries and/or medical conditions.

  • 5. If a participant is injured whilst on this retreat, they must bring this to the attention of Greensville Trust, its group leader and/or representatives immediately.

  • 6. Greensville Trust does not accept any responsibility for other participant’s failure to comply with the rules.

  • 7. Greensville Trust’s paramount consideration is each participant's safety and the safety of others participating in this retreat and each participant must obey all requests and instructions issued by Greensville Trust and any of its representatives and take particular care to abide by any instructions given.

  • 8. Greensville Trust reserves the right to not accept a participant onto an activity at any point during this retreat.

  • 9. If a participant commits an illegal act, Greensville Trust will cease to have responsibility to or for the participant.

  • 10. Greensville Trust and its representatives have complete discretion to refuse a participant access to any part of the retreat if it is considered they would be a danger to themselves or other participants.

  • 11. All participants acknowledge that the nature of this type of travel requires flexibility and the outlined itinerary provided for this retreat is an indication of what each participant may accomplish and it does not form a contractual obligation on the part of Greensville Trust.

  • 12. The responsibility of Greensville Trust does not commence until the participant has arrived to meet Greensville Trust and/or its representatives at the agreed time at the designated meeting point.

  • 13. If the participant fails to arrive at the appointed time at the designated meeting point, Greensville Trust will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by the participant in order to locate and meet the group.

  • 14. All parents and guardians attending the retreat hold responsibility over the supervision of their children during the retreat and especially within communal areas of the hotel and other facilities. Parents and guardians are especially advise to provide supervision if their children are playing within the hotels grounds and play area.

  • 15. Greensville Trust shall not be liable for any failure to perform the contract which is due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of Greensville Trust, their agents and/ or their suppliers, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised.

  • 7. Terms and Conditions

  • Attendance

    Students are required to attend the retreat in full.

  • Course Fee Payment

    The basic package for the retreat (which is two-sharing) is £995 (per person). The price goes up depending on the package purchased. A (non-refundable) deposit of £300 (per adult) must be made in order to secure one's place. All remaining payment must be made two weeks prior to the start of the retreat.

  • Package Details 

    The following is included in the package:

    • Eight nights' full-board accommodation
    • Classes
    • Futuwwa Sports: Horse Riding, Archery, BJJ & Calligraphy (women only)
    • Access to the facilities provided at the Spa Centre

    Flights and internal travel to and from Bradford are not included in the package. Students are responsible for arranging their travel to and from the retreat.

     

  • Travel

    Students are required to arrange their own travel to Bradford. In addition, international students are responsible for obtaining their visas (which must be obtained prior to travelling). All students should ensure that their passports are valid six months before the start of the retreat. Lastly, students are fully responsible of any changes an airline makes to flights (even if the arrival or departure date affects the start/end of the retreat).

  • Children

    Children will only be permitted onto the retreat on the condition that at least one parent is present. Please note that parents bear the full responsbility of the welfare and safety of the child throughout the retreat. A Futuwwa programme will be arranged for children from the age of seven and fourteen years based on a minimum number of participants. There will be no Futuwwa programme for children under the age of six. 

    Parents are required to take it in turns to look after their children if there are classes whether the brothers' timetable overlaps with the sisters.

  • Childcare

    There is no childcare provision at the retreat. Any childcare facility available that the hotel would be provided on an unsupervised basis.

  • Cancellations & Refunds

    Deposits are non-refundable. If a student decides to withdraw from the retreat (after having been accepted) then notification of this withdrawal must be received by the administration no later than two weeks before the start of the retreat  in order for the remaining payment of the fee to be refunded.

  • Limitation of Liability

    Greensville Trust shall not be responsible for any loss or injury obtained when attending as a student at the Futuwwa retreat. By signing this agreement, you agree that you, your heirs, legal representatives, or any member of your family will not make a legal claim against or sue Greensville Trust for its work in managing and administering the Futuwwa Retreat. If any portion of this agreement is unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. This agreement shall be construed, enforced, and governed according to the laws of England and applicable to agreements made and to be performed in the United Kingdom. Any reference herein to the limitation of liability of Greensville Trust shall also mean that all agents, servants and employees of Greensville Trust shall have no individual liability whatsoever in connection with such specified events. This agreement sets forth the entire agreement of the parties and may only be changed or provisions waived by a writing signed by both parties.
