    Needs Improvement โ€“ Performance does not consistently meet expectations โ€“ performance failed to meet expectations in one or more essential areas of responsibility, and/or one or more of the most critical goals are not met. Some additional training and support needed, and their work should still be closely monitored.

    Meets Expectations โ€“ Performance consistently met expectations in all essential areas of responsibility, at times possibly exceeding expectations, and the quality of work overall is very good. Their most critical performance goals are met. They do not require being monitored, but are expected to still ask questions here and there.

    Exceeds Expectations โ€“ Performance consistently exceeds expectations in all essential areas of responsibility, and their quality of work overall is excellent without supervision. All their performance goals are met and they rarely have any questions.

    Exceptional Work โ€“ Performance far exceeds expectations due to exceptionally high quality of work performed in all essential areas of responsibility, resulting in an overall quality of work that is superior; and either 1) included the completion of a major goal or project, or 2) made an exceptional or unique contribution in support of the department, or clinic's objectives. This rating is achievable by any employee though given infrequently.
