• SCAPE

    MARKETING & GRAPHIC DESIGN COORDINATOR

    NEW YORK, NY  |  NEW ORLEANS, LA

    ABOUT SCAPE

    SCAPE is a landscape architecture and urban design practice headquartered in New York with offices in New Orleans and San Francisco. We design and advocate for the ecologically restorative and socially engaged landscapes, urban environments, and natural infrastructure of the future.

    Our staff of over 90 individuals includes landscape architects, urban planners, architects, ecological designers, horticulturists, and community engagement professionals—and a deep bench of technical expertise related to construction, regulation and agency review. We work across disciplines, collaborating with architects, developers, engineers, foundations, agencies, institutions, and grassroots environmental justice and community groups on projects across scales.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator is a critical role on the Marketing Team at SCAPE. This is an entry-level role, but an ideal candidate has a strong graphic sensibility and the ability to organize information across print and digital mediums thoughtfully and with close attention to context and detail. Excellent skills across Adobe Creative Cloud are a must, with emphasis on InDesign (advanced proficiency preferred, with working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator).

    This role will primarily support the business development team, with as-needed support for communications. Day-to-day, tasks will include the InDesign management of proposals and presentations in response to RFP/Qs and new business pursuits, as well maintaining and updating the firm’s cache of marketing materials (cutsheets, portfolios, resumes, and other graphic assets). Day-to-day tasks are primarily deadline-driven. Overall, the role will help maintain SCAPE’s graphic standards across marketing and communications materials as a whole.

    LOCATION

    This role is based in either our New York headquarters or our New Orleans office. Applications are also accepted for our new San Francisco office, but candidates based in New York or New Orleans are highly preferred.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator will primarily support the production side of RFP/Q responses, including:

    • Support the Senior Business Development Manager in the layout of proposal documents —laying out visually-compelling, well-edited proposals in Adobe InDesign for diverse project pursuits;
    • Drafting interview decks —laying out visually-compelling presentation decks for the interview process;
    • Coordinating review and edits —administering a timely review process with the SCAPE Principal Team and collaborators, entering edits and maintaining an orderly file structure;
    • Drafting original proposal materials (as needed) —including tailored project descriptions, approach/project understanding text, and other first-draft text for baseline use;
    • Coordinating the submission of print and digital proposals —including work with local printers to meet document specifications and timely delivery to meet hard deadlines;
    • Maintaining SCAPE’s marketing materials —including cutsheets, resumes, headshots, firm portfolios, promotional booklets, and other graphic assets.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    A successful candidate will possess:

    • A Bachelor’s degree or higher;
    • Entry-level experience or higher;
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) —specifically the formatting of print/digital materials, with an eye for graphic design;
    • General knowledge and interest in the design field , including landscape architecture, urban planning/design, architecture, engineering, and related disciplines (i.e., real estate and economic development);
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills —especially the ability to balance near-term (“high tide”) tasks requiring action with longer-term (“low tide”) initiatives requiring consistent follow-up. Aptitude at social media, digital photography, and videography are a plus but not required.

    DEADLINE & SUBMISSION

    Applications are due by Friday, July 1 at 5PM EST.

    You may contact jobs@scapestudio.com with questions, but please review these instructions in detail before reaching out.
