The Apprenticeship is a period in which the team gets to know you.
During the period you will create 3 tasks and complete them.
& you will be required to do 1 service task later.
Apprenticeships are not meant to be done alone!
Rather they exist to pair established members with those who are new.
When a team is very new, it doesn't have enough people to do apprenticeships.
If you are doing this form alone that is a sign that we need more experienced people doing apprenticeships for other people.
Please don't take it as normal, but rather, bookmark and study this guide later on so you can help others during their apprenticeship.
There is a lot of overhead work in running an Open Collective.
and it only works if everyone pulls their weight.
This first service task is your way of giving back to the Open Collective.
Please keep filling out the form until the end even now (before you are done the Apprenticeship).
Once you are done all 4 tasks
you present those tasks to the team (via text or voice).
And the team will choose you based on their experience with you during those tasks.
We are looking for people of integrity, not experts.

If the team likes you and you pass the election you're officially a team member!
Make sure to show up to our daily meetings so they see you.
People won't elect someone they never see!

If you don't know how, use the 2nd onboarding course which is linked into the first one.
The Apprenticeship period is as long as you would like it to be.
No hurry! Most people choose 2 weeks for a deadline.
To summarize, you do 4 tasks and stand for the election using the evidence of your hard work.

As a self-organizing team we do not depend on managers but expect team members to organize themselves.
You assign yourself tasks.
You set your own deadlines.
You setup meetings with other team members to see what needs to be done.
Each Monday, we elect 1 servant leader for each team for that week.
They help people organize themselves, but don't set deadlines or anything.
