Upward Bound Cal Poly Pomona (UBCPP) students are issued program iPad with accessories for the purpose of participating in the virtual summer program. The student’s privilege of possession and use is limited to, and conditioned upon, full and complete compliance with the UBCPP Student iPad Agreement. Any failure to comply will terminate this privilege. This privilege also terminates upon, completion or withdrawal from the UBCPP summer program.
Copyright and File Sharing
Students are required to follow all copyright laws around all media including text, images, programs, music, and video. Downloading, sharing, and posting illegally obtained media is against the student iPad Agreement. Additionally, any illegal activity and use of technology may be subject to intervention from law enforcement and/or legal action. Students and their parents/guardians are responsible for reviewing the following iPad Agreement.
iPad use Guidelines
- I will take good care of my iPad and accessories
- I will never leave my iPad and accessories unattended in an unsecured or unsupervised location.
- I will keep food and beverages away from my iPad and accessories since they may cause damage to the devices.
- I will protect my iPad and accessories by always carrying it in a secure manner to avoid damage.
- I will notify Upward Bound Staff immediately in the case the iPad and/or accessories do not work or they are damaged
- I will use my iPad and accessories in ways that are appropriate for education.
- I will promptly report any problems with their iPad and accessories to UBCPP staff.
- I will NOT remove or interfere with the serial number and other identification.
- I will NOT disassemble any part of my iPad and/or accessories or attempt any repairs.
- I will NOT attempt to install or run any operating system on the iPad
- I will NOT clean the screen with anything other than approved computer/iPad screen cleaners.
- I will NOT place decorations (stickers, markers, writing, etc.) on the iPad and/or accessories.
Damage and Repair
I understand that the iPad and accessories remain the property of Upward Bound Cal Poly Pomona. UBCPP will repair or replace damaged equipment resulting from normal use. All other damage above and beyond normal use, via neglect or abuse, will be the responsibility of the families.
Responsibility for Electronic Data
Students are responsible for backing up their data to protect from loss. Users of the iPads have no rights, ownership, or expectations of privacy to any data that is, or was, stored on the iPads, are given no guarantees that data will be retained or destroyed. Students may save documents to their Google Drive, or they may save to an external memory device (e.g. USB flash drive). It will be the responsibility of the student to maintain the integrity of their files and keep proper backups.
Agreement
Rules and regulations are necessary to offer technology opportunities to the students. I understand and agree to abide by all the rules as stated in this document.
