About the Games
The New Zealand Masters Games unites people and communities through sport and play. The Games were founded in 1989 and are now Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest and longest running multisport event, alternating between Dunedin and Whanganui each year.
Over nine days, the 2023 Masters Games will host thousands of participants competing in fifty-five plus sporting codes in various locations across Whanganui.
When not playing sport, participants (and their supporters and our sponsors) are invited to relax and enjoy entertainment at the Games Village located in the CBD.
Kicked off by an opening ceremony to welcome guests and locals alike, a varied entertainment programme will keep the city centre humming throughout the event.
About our Charity Partner Programme
The 2023 New Zealand Masters Games provides an opportunity for a registered charity to promote its cause and collect donations.
The chosen charity will:
-
Have values that align with ours: Pride. Unity. Heart. Fun!
-
Have a purpose that aligns with/supports ours: To unite people and communities through sport and play
-
Bring ideas and energy to mix to benefit our event and their fundraising.
Best of all, the Charity gets to keep 100% of their donation collection!
