Simply Music Perpetual Studio Policies & Agreement
Lesson schedule: Lessons are offered Monday through Friday and sometimes Saturday.

Academic Year: The studio school year runs perpetually from September to June. The studio schedule will run in conjunction with the School District 60 Statutory Holidays, Christmas Holidays and Spring Break. Lessons do run as normal on Pro-D days; they are not taken out of your calendar.

Perpetual Enrolment: Our studio runs on perpetual enrolment, this means once enrolled with our studio, you will continue to be enrolled (year after year) until you choose to withdraw, September-June (additional summer lessons or programs optional)

Missed Lesson Policy: Due to the busy studio schedule there will be no make-up lessons for student cancellations. Simply Music is not responsible for classes missed by a student. Regarding lessons cancelled by teachers; if the teacher cannot make up the lesson in the summer or over the weekend, the ensuing credit will be dealt with in one of the following manners: if there is an outstanding balance or payments are being processed by credit card, the credit will be applied to the balance. If the lessons were paid in full with no current payments being processed or are being processed by cheque, a credit memo will be issued through cheque payment. Credits will be issued or applied to an account, whatever is applicable.

Termination: A written withdrawal form, given with a full 2 months notice is required for lesson termination. The 2 months written notice is calculated from the beginning of the month following the month the notice is given. Payments received will be reimbursed after sufficient termination notice has been given. If you choose to withdraw after the teaching year is finished you will need to fill out a withdrawal form, or we will assume you are continuing in the fall, due to our perpetual enrollment. A withdrawal form can be obtained by the downstairs staff. To ensure there are no errors with all departments, this form has to be filled out and turned in, faxed or emailed in order for withdrawal to be processed. No phone withdrawals are accepted.

Overdue Fees: Fees that are outstanding for over 30 days will be required to be paid in full before the next scheduled lesson or the studio will have the right to refuse lessons to the students whose payment is overdue, unless previous arrangements have been made. A $25.00 service charge will automatically be applied to all NSF cheques and any Declined Credit Card Charges for every month payment declined.

Method of Payment: There are 3 payment options available.

~Equal monthly payments- 10 postdated cheques or pre-authorized credit card or Visa-debit card payments remitted on or before the 1st day of lessons. If you choose this option, you pay the same amount every month. This method has nothing to do with the amount of lesson in a month because it is a payment option for convenience of your budget. If the student starts later in the year, the same payments apply.

~Semi-Annually- 2 cheques remitted at the beginning of lessons, one (1) dated for the first day of lessons and the other postdated for February 1.

~Semi-Annually- (Option 2); Credit card or Visa-debit card charged on the first day of lessons and second (2nd) credit card payment pre-authorized for February 1. If you wish to pay in debit you must pay before the first day of lessons and before February 1, but you will still need to have a credit card or Visa-debit card on file. You can also write a postdated cheque and receive it back if you choose to pay with debit instead.

~Annually- one payment made at the beginning of lessons by cheque or cash, credit card, or debit. We must insist that all lessons for the year must be paid in full before the lessons commence. Lessons will be refused if there is no payment method on file.

A yearly $25.00 family registration fee will be applied upon enrollment and again every June for the perpetual music year there- after, until withdrawn from lessons. This is non-refundable.

*Special payment notice. Due to all the extra expenses for everyone in September, September’s payment (first payment of the school year) will be put through on the week following August 15. If you start part way through the year this does not apply to you, however, payment is due is when you register.

Please be aware if we are holding a spot with a teacher to start at a later date, the above termination policy applies even if the enrollment is cancelled before beginning lessons 1week or less.

Recitals: There will be two yearly recitals, one at Christmas, and one at year end. Both recitals will be held as close to regular lesson times in lieu of lessons. Some years we put on a large recital: you will be informed if this happens.

Please note: Monday and Saturday students will receive extra lessons over spring break or during the summer to make up for stat holidays, the difference between the other week day lessons. Exam students may use these extra lessons to prepare for their exams, if necessary. No changes will be made to these rates at any time.

Please Note: If groups become mismatched as the year progresses, some rescheduling may become necessary to ensure the student is in the best learning environment.
