I approve to have my student, [name], participate in the Palo Alto School of Chamber Music. I will work with my student before the first rehearsal to ensure s/he has good fingerings, and understands the rhythms, for any difficult passages.

  • Audition Video Links

Submit your audition video links here - see audition requirements. Returning students WITHIN A YEAR do not have to audition; longer than that, we'd like to hear how you've improved!
  • Absences

  • No more than 1 excused half-day absence is acceptable per camp week which cannot include the master class (Thurs after lunch) or the performance, and must be known way in advance. Illness will be excused but this needs to be communicated as soon as possible in advance of the specific rehearsal.

  • Music preparation

  • The coaches will meet a few weeks before your camp starts, to decide on groups and choose music. We'll email you your music (your part and the score) as soon as it's chosen (we try for 2 weeks before camp starts). You'll be expected to learn your part with the help of your teacher before camp starts, because you rehearse EVERY DAY so there isn't a lot of practice time during camp week. (If you will be away until just before camp and practicing will be a problem, let us know so we can give you a part that isn't too hard to learn quickly.)

We highly recommend practicing every day at least the week before camp, to get your muscles ready for the intense schedule of camp!

  • Music preparation agreement:

I will know my own part before the first rehearsal, and be prepared to put it together with the other parts in my group

I won't be able to practice my piece the 2 weeks before my camp. I am writing more  details in "comments" below.
