Surf Life Saving Queensland – Expressions of Interest for Lifeguard Positions
Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated individuals to fill multiple lifeguard positions across Queensland. Locations include Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Agnes Water, Bundaberg, Rainbow Beach, Sunshine Coast, and North Stradbroke Island.
About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Lifeguard Supervisor, Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety and supervision of the public by providing safety advice, performing rescues, and administering first aid and resuscitation when required.
Key Details
- Summer Season: 12 December 2026 – 27 January 2027
- Additional Work: May be available after the season depending on the region
- Early Start: Opportunities for earlier commencement in Townsville and Cairns
Training Requirements
- Pool Swim Assessment, Lifeguard Induction and Boat and Jet Ski Licence Theory: 2 November 2026, Brisbane
- Boat and Jet Ski Licence Practical: 3 November 2026, Brisbane
- Lifeguard Training: 9 – 13 November & 16 - 20 November 2026, North Stradbroke Island. Accommodation, meals, and Australian lifeguard qualifications will be provided during the training.
- If you do not fulfill your contract, you may be required to repay the training program expenses.
