Hillside Acres- Positions available & Scheduling Information
Please check which positions you are interested in applying for: These are seasonal positions. We are planning to be open to the public August 29th-Oct 31st on Wednesdays & Thursdays 10am-6pm and Friday & Saturday's 10am-9pm. Closed on Sundays. Some available positions may start earlier in the season. Split shifts; shifts usually start an hour before opening and end 30-45 minutes after closing.

Hayride Driver: Driving tractor pulling hayride wagon, prior experience driving manual tractor is a must, strong safety consciousness, Must have good rapport working with people, must be 18 years old & older- Field Trips (Wed & Thurs mornings, Friday & Saturday's 9am-9pm [split shift]
Apple Picking: picking apples, requires lifting 40lbs, putting apples through sorting machine, physical labor, no experience needed, days & hours are based on when apples are ready for harvest (typically Monday & Tuesday's)
Pumpkin Picking: picking pumpkins, gourds, requires lifting, sorting into bins (typically Tuesday's)
Donut Production: mixing up donut batter, frying donuts, sugaring & glazing, packaging for market; filter donut oil, be able to manage multiple tasks and keep areas clean (Wednesday-Thursday's 8am-noon? or till cleaned up & Fri- Saturday's 8am-9pm)
Food Trailer: Open Labor Day, Friday evenings (4-8:30pm) & Saturdays (10am-8:30pm). Help prepare, cook, & serve food. (Run the grill, fry french fries, put together food orders, etc) Be able to manage multiple things at once, can be quick fast paced environment at times. (10 positions open)
Market weekdays: Wed-Thursday 9am-6:30pm & Fridays 9am-9:30pm timeframes, store employee, stock shelves, clean store, help customers, bag apples, make caramel apples, serve slushies, clean bathrooms, etc.
Market Saturdays: 9am-9:30pm timeframes, store employee, stock shelves, clean store, bag apples, get apples orders ready, help customers, refill slushie machines, give apple samples, clean bathrooms, etc. (Must be able to commit to 3 Saturday's a month if only working Saturdays during the season)
Cashier: market, pumpkin tent, admission booth, food trailer, & Donut Shoppe, Wednesday-Saturday, know how to count back change to customers, have good customer service & friendliness with customers, trustworthy, experience as a cashier is preferred, experience with Square POS would be great, must be 16+, Hours depend on which cashier position you are scheduled for
Timber Town/Outside Crew: Friday & Sat 9am-9pm (split shift), assist customers where needed, check animals & feed, monitor mini zip lines & activities, get campfire rentals ready, pick up trash & empty trash bags into dumpster, check porta pots, take pumpkin wagons back to hayride drop off, apple cannon monitor, check corn maze for trash & damage, parking, etc.
Kitchen: Bake apple dumplings, make cooler food (pb&j sandwiches, ham sandwiches), make hot spiced cider, keep kitchen cleaned & dishes washed up, help prep food trailer food for the weekend, package bulk food if needed, bake pumpkin bars & frost, etc. Wednesday-Saturday's 9am-close
Field Trip Guide: Wednesday-Friday mornings from 8:45am-12:30pm (end time could be earlier if not a full field trip schedule), enjoy working with children, be able to keep attentions & follow a farm curriculum about pumpkins, help pick pie pumpkins with the group, be flexible, etc. (2 positions open)

Most available positions are for 16 year olds and older. We have very limited openings for 14/15 year olds. We provide training for the various positions available. Pay rate and positions will be decided after interviews. Interviews will be scheduled end of July-August. No high school diploma- starts at $9/hr with opportunities up to $11/hr+.
