We have several aspects to our work. First we always need fosters for dogs. The duration of their care is usually limited to two weeks or less, often just a few nights! We think that makes us unique in our area because most go out on transport to receiving rescues quickly. We do not act as a rescue, rather we are the go between the "finder", "surrender" or shelter. 95% of the dogs we ask someone to foster have already been accepted by a rescue and because we have scheduled transport dates, we know that the time with fosters is not very long. Second, we need drivers to pick up dogs from surrendering parties or from animal shelters. You may be called upon to escort a dog(s) to veterinary appointments. Third, our long distance drivers are a critical component of our work. This is usually three or more hours one way with at least 6 dogs, many times more. All supplies are provided and of course we pay for gas. Multiple dogs are transported in our freedom driver van which is comfortable and safe for all passengers. This volunteer agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into as of the date set forth below by Ozark Freedom Drivers. WHEREAS, the Volunteer has voluntarily contacted Ozark Freedom Drivers and has expressed an interest in working with dogs in the care and custody of Ozark Freedom Drivers.. In consideration of Ozark Freedom Drivers agreement to allow the volunteer to interact with animals, the volunteer hereby, for his/her heirs, his/her personal representatives, and him/herself represent and warrant as follows: 1. The volunteer is fully aware of the risks that animals pose and have elected to interact with one or more animals in the care of and while working with Ozark Freedom Drivers . The volunteer knowingly assumes all risks that exposure to animals may pose, including but not limited to serious bodily injury and/or death. 2. THE VOLUNTEER HEREBY WAIVES, RELEASES DISCHARGES, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISES TO INDEMNIFY AND NOT TO BRING SUIT AGAINT RESCUTES, its directors, officers, volunteers, and all other agents, and attorney for any of the referenced parties and any other parties acting for or on behalf of the referenced partied from an and all rights and claims which the volunteer has or which may hereafter accrue to the volunteer and from any and all damages which may be sustained by the volunteer directly or indirectly in connection with, or arising out of, the volunteer’s exposure to such animals.
By signing here I declare Ozark Freedom Drivers free of liability in the case of any damage caused to me during volunteer work with respect to the above clause.
