Who is The Course For?
The 'Certificate in Counselling Supervision' has been developed for experienced counsellors who want to develop appropriate skills.
Counsellors may apply according to having the following experience:
- Passed Level 5 and 3 years working experience post qualification
- If no Level 5 - 5 years experience post Diploma/Degree with letter of proof from Supervisor.
There is a 4000-word essay which aims to examine and evaluate your supervision practice. In order to complete the written assignment, you will need to source at least one supervisee. 'Counselling Training Hub' can help you with finding your supervisee. You can also opt to omit the assignment for the present and receive a Certificate of Attendance and then complete the assignment and receive the Certificate at a later date but within 18 months.
Course Content Overview:
The course draws mainly upon the Hawkins and Shohet 7 Eyed Model for its theoretical underpinnings.
We will look at:
- Motivation for becoming a supervisor
- The purposes of supervision
- The supervisees perspective
- The supervisor’s perspective
- Effective use of supervision
- Ethical considerations
- Online supervision
- Legal, equal opportunity, GDPR and health and safety issues
The course will involve participation in role-plays and group discussion as well as lectures and case discussions. Part of the course will be undertaken via a video conferencing platform, for example zoom.
Privacy:
Your data is stored securely and confidentially and used within the guidance parameters of GDPR 2018. It will not be shared with anyone without your consent. If you are successful in your application, your tutor will invite you to join student group forums and open-source learning online to keep you updated.
You have the right to amend any of your information that we have recorded and ask us to delete any of your personal data.
In certain circumstances our insurance may require us to hold on to some data, and if so, you will be made aware.
Terms & Conditions:
- All Counsellors are welcome and must be qualified.
- Tea breaks provided.
- You will sign up for the full course.
- Groups will contain up to 12 attendees.
- You will receive proof of attendance or a Certificate from the facilitator.
We need your attendance at the sessions to be able to award you your certificate, so as you sign up, you’ll check that you are free to attend all of the dates. If you have a holiday booked or another event and cannot attend one of the dates in the group you have chosen, let us know at the end of this form and we will attempt to adjust the dates to help you. If it's still not possible, you will simply miss that date but still benefit from receiving the minutes from the missed session so you can be all caught up and informed within the course.
PLEASE NOTE Should you decide to leave the course at any point, half payment (at £355.00) will be required whether the course is completed or not. If you have paid over £355.00 you will not be refunded the extra. If you have been funded by a separate authority, this will not be refunded.
********************************************************
The reason for this is - if people drop out and don't pay half, it puts the course in jeopardy of ending for everyone. Half payment ensures the course can continue, therefore all bills at the HUB can be paid and tutors can be paid to continue. PLEASE BE 100% SURE THAT YOU WANT TO TAKE ON THIS COURSE, YOUR ACTIONS CAN AFFECT THE WHOLE CLASS.
If the 'Counselling Training Hub' cancel a session for any reason, we will find another date to suit the group or add another date onto the end of the set that suits the group.
