Proper thawing methods must be used to ensure not only freshness but prevent bacteria growth. It is our recommendation that the customers follow proper thawing methods prior to cooking. In order for Catch-n-Carry to guarantee freshness and safe handling, we recommend customers purchase one of our coolers. This allows our trained staff to properly package your catch and ensure safety and freshness for up to 24 hours. If you choose to take your catch home in a personal cooler, you assume all risks associated with the possibility of your fish starting to thaw. Improperly thawed fish can grow Clostridium botulinum and Listeria monocytognes. Please refer to the USDA's website for proper defrosting methods for more information.
