  • TUITION AND FEES

Madrasah Az-Zahraa is a completely volunteer-run organization, none of our administration or teachers are paid by the Madrasah. However, we do have costs, like textbooks, class materials, awards, etc., and we do our part to contribute to the running of the Az-Zahraa centre, therefore we do charge nominal tuition fees.

    Tuition fees this year:
$150 Registration Fee - Payable by credit card below (tax receipt will be issued)
Plus a $100 Security Deposit - Payable by cheque on the first day of SpiritualStation and will be refunded at the end of the year based on attendance. (no tax receipt will be issued for the deposit)

We welcome all students and families regardless of their ability to pay. We will *NEVER* reject a student due to financial ability to pay. If the Madrasah fees are a financial hardship for your family, please mark the option below and the Madrasah will confidentially waive your fee obligation for the 2022/23 year.

Payment is due no later than July 4, 2022 to guarantee your child's spot for the 2022/2023 year.

  • Student Attendance

As a parent of Madrasah Az-Zahraa student you acknowledge that your child will regularly attend Madrasah Az-Zahraa and be on time each week.

    ----------------

Unexcused absence: is when a student misses Madrasah without informing the teacher or Madrasah Az-Zahraa administration of the absence
Excused absence: parent communicates student absence to teacher or Madrasah Az-Zahraa administration before the start of Madrasah
Note: students are required to make up all missed work due to absences

-- If a student misses more than 3 days of Madrasah (excused/unexcused), an email notification will be sent to the parents
-- If the student misses more than 6 days (excused/unexcused) then the student may be subject to dismissal from Madrasah
-- $10 deducted for any missed days. with the exception of 3 grace days allowed

    ----------------

Late Arrivals / Early Dismissals: To avoid disruption in classes, we humbly request parents to keep their child until the start of the period/lesson. Children should not be removed from the class until the end of the period (except in the case of emergency). The outside doors will be locked 15 minutes after the start of Madrasah, so please use the doorbell at the North-east doorway in order to access the Madrasah when coming in late. Parents should accompany children to the office when signing in late or signing out early.

    Dress Code

We have implemented a very lenient dress code at Madrasah to make it easy for everyone to follow, while at the same time ensuring that everyone is dressed respectfully and in full hijab. We need everyone to help us ensure that this is followed. The dress code is:

-- Boys: Pants and long-sleeve shirt. Pants can be jeans! (but, no rips and no hip-hugger/low-riders) Please no track pants. Shirts/pants should also not have large or distracting pictures or logos.
-- Girls: Long Abaya with any colour head scarf.

To support the children, and to foster a strong Islamic learning environment, we request the parents also observe Islamically appropriate clothing when at the Madrasah.

    Behavior

As a parent of Madrasah Az-Zahraa student you are required to work with your child to demonstrate appropriate behavior. If a child demonstrates inappropriate or dangerous behavior, then he/she may be subject to dismissal from the Madrasah.

    Learning

Learning must always extend beyond Madrasah hours, and so it is critical for parents to take an active role in their student's Islamic education.
