Sexual assault is a term covering a range of criminal offences involving a sexual act or sexual contact without consent, where a reasonable person, having regard to all the circumstances, would have known consent had not been given.
Sexual harassment is an unwelcome sexual advance, an unwelcome request for sexual favours, or another unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature in circumstances in which a reasonable person, having regard to all the circumstances, would have anticipated the possibility that a person would be offended, humiliated or intimidated.

You can complete this form anonymously or with contact details.

    • Note that Morling College may be limited in what action it can take after receiving an anonymous report.
    • Reports with contact details include the name and contact information of the person who submitted the report. If you are reporting on behalf of someone else, do not include the name and contact details of the person who experienced the behaviour unless you have their permission to give their name.
    • If you provide your contact details, staff from Morling College/MRC will discuss with you what you want to happen in relation to your report. This information will be taken into account when developing a response.

This reporting form should be read and completed in conjunction with Morling College's Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment policy and procedure documentation.

    • Morling College will maintain a confidential record of this report.
    • If staff believe there is a significant risk of harm to an individual or the community, staff will refer details to the Police.
    • If a report is about someone aged under 18 years old, staff may refer details of the report to the appropriate  government organisation and/or Police.
    • If you have also started a separate reporting process with another body (eg Police, ACT, Macquarie Uni) then Morling will provide support but will not start a new investigation.
    • Where applicable, this incident may be recorded with the Australian Univ of Theology as a critical incident and fall under their policies and procedures regarding sexual assault and harrassment.

    • On completion of this form, you will see a reference number on the screen. Please record this reference number as you may choose to contact the College at a later date to access support, or understand the options available to you. Your reference number can assist with this process.

    • Please note that within the College, information from a report may only be accessed by staff who need this information to act on the responsibilities specified in our policies. Where the College responds to a report, students and staff involved in the response or any investigation must keep all information about the report, the investigation, and the College's response confidential. This includes copies of reports, any information about investigation, interim measures, findings, or disciplinary matters. Sharing information in to a professional body who is also bound by confidentiality agreements is appropriate (eg reporting further to police, seeking counselling, medical support etc).

  • The following question asks for information about the person whose behaviour you are reporting. This person is sometimes referred to as the respondent, or the alleged perpetrator. If you are reporting the behaviour of more than one person, you can include their details here as well.

If a formal investigation takes place, Morling College staff will need to speak with the person named in your report as part of the process. This is a standard part of ensuring a fair and respectful process for everyone involved. In line with principles of natural justice and procedural fairness, the respondent has the right to be informed of the concerns raised, to respond with their perspective or any relevant information, and to have their case considered by an impartial decision-maker.
