Join Vanderbilt Planetarium and CEED for a night to remember ...
Our popular combination IS BACK!! A little after sunset on July 5th, we’ll head out on our trails for an owl prowl, keeping our eyes out for any of our nighttime creatures, including flying squirrels, foxes, opossums, and of course, owls!
After the hike, enjoy incredible views of the nighttime sky through a powerful telescope! Our friends and astronomy educators from the Vanderbilt Museum’s Reichert Planetarium will be giving a tour of the evening’s celestial highlights, including the Moon, beautiful double stars, and deep-sky objects like globular clusters, gaseous nebulae, and galaxies. We encourage you to bring your own telescopes, binoculars, and cameras to practice long-exposure photography.
Don’t worry if the sky is not clear, the Vanderbilt team is always prepared and ready to share interesting astronomy topics. And put it on your calendar that we have another Night Sky and Owl Prowl scheduled for October 21st.
