Cross County School District actively supports this jointly developed compact between students, parents, and the entire school staff. The responsibility for continuous improvement of student achievement must be actively shared in order for our students to achieve the State’s high standards.
Parent/Guardian agreement:
I know that I am responsible for my own actions and the actions of my child. I want to be successful in and out of school. Therefore I agree to:
1. Keep a positive attitude.
2 Respect my child, my child’s teacher, the entire school staff, and myself.
3. Establish a time for homework as free from distractions as possible and review it regularly.
4. Send my child to school on time wearing clean, appropriate clothing with homework and materials for learning.
5. Offer praise and encouragement to my child.
6. Volunteer and participate in my child’s education.
7. Support and abide by the Student Handbook.
8. Attend Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Student Agreement:
I know that I am responsible for my own success, and education offers me the keys to success. Therefore I agree to:
1. Keep a positive attitude, ready and eager to learn.
2. Respect family, other students, all teachers, the entire school staff, and myself.
3. Wear clean, appropriate clothing, and have homework and all materials for learning.
4. Obey the rules of the school, the classroom, and the Student Handbook.
5. Obey the rules and regulations of school technology usage.
School/Staff Agreement:
I know that I share the responsibilities to provide high quality curriculum/instruction/leadership in a supportive/effective learning environment, and I agree to:
1. Keep a positive attitude.
2. Respect students, parents/guardians/family members, the entire school staff, and myself.
3. Assign homework to reinforce what has been or is being taught.
4. Encourage regular/punctual attendance, good behavior, and good grades.
5. Offer praise and encouragement to my students.
6. Provide clean facilities/environment, healthy food, appropriate learning materials, and quality teaching.
7. Provide an environment that allows for positive and confidential communication among the teacher, parent, and student.
8. Enforce the Student Handbook, with equal treatment for all.
9. Provide students and parents with information of daily assignments and tests.
10. Notify parents in a timely manner if students are developing problems.
