Linguistics for Language Learning Workshop

Join us for the next workshop in our Linguist’s Toolkit for Language Learning series: “Conventional Wisdom — Why are Phonetic Alphabets?” Sounds ≠ letters, so what are words made of? In this workshop, we discuss phonetic alphabets and how they can be useful tool for language learners. Participants will learn for themselves the criteria that distinguish sounds from one another, and will also have the chance to investigate the sound system(s) of their target language(s) with instructor feedback.
