Family Faith Formation Format
Tenative Plan: Final plan will be based on number of students and volunteers.
Layout: 2X a Month at SMHOC
5:45 - 6:15 pm: Meal in the dining hall!
6:15 - 7: 45 pm: Programming
Grades 1st - 5th Grade Crew:
Seek for Children is a kerygmatic VBS style experience designed for early elementary school aged children to encounter the Gospel. Through songs, activities, and video teachings, children will get to know a God who is love and be given a shared vocabulary to engage in conversations of faith with their parents.
1st - 5th Grade Program Leader: You are the MC for the night. Must be enthusiastic, willing to get kiddos involved by the energy level you give off. Know the outline of the night, learn theme song motions, help push play for the videos that help the program along.
1st - 5th grader Small Group Leaders: you will have small groups of kiddos in your crew! Travel with your crew to different rooms.
Room Leaders: room topics still being decided but will most likely include an activity room, scripture room, and teaching room. We are hoping to faciliate feast & family days once a month at the 5:00 pm Mass and 8:00 am Mass to bring liturgical living alive in our parishes.
*6th & 7th Grade Middle School Program*: We are hoping to have enough volunteers to offer a specific middle school program either right away in the fall or in the spring. Through Ascension Press’ Encounter & Envision program, we will give middle school students the tools to confidently seek God through scripture & theology of the body basics, to set them up for success during a time that is often filled with many challenges.
Main Leader: Knows the content & is able to run the videos and any small group games.
Small Group Leaders: Help kiddos in your group stay on tasks during the presentation of material and then engage with teens during small group discussions.
Teens: Seek for Teens is a kerygmatic youth night style experience designed for high school aged teens to encounter the Gospel. Through games, discussions, witness sharings, and teachings, teens will get to know a God who is love and be given a shared vocabulary to engage in conversations of faith with their parents.
Table leaders: Lead small group discussions with designated teens. Leaders grow in fellowship with teens and become a trusted adult in their faith journey. Prep is minimal and all content is pr
Parents: Seek for Parents is a kerygmatic small group experience designed for parents of children to encounter the Gospel. Through discussions, activities, reflections, witness sharings, and teachings, participants will get to know a God who is love and be given a shared vocabulary to share in conversations of faith with their children.
Adult Leader: The main facilitator who will understand & facilitate programming for adults.
Adult Table leaders: Parents designated to be a smiling face and hospitable conversation engager. No prep just your presence and positive support.
Hospitality Crew: Our plan is still to provide a meal every time we meet. This is extremely helpful to families, especially those who travel from our southern part of the ACC.
Meal Sponsors: Donate $200 towards a meal
Meal Servers: Donate your time to help serve meal from 5:30 - 6:30 pm before programming. Includes set up and take down.
Meal Coordinator: Work directly with Kelli to reach out to all five parishes to see if specific groups, families or parishioners want to sponsor & serve meals.
Theme Creators: We are looking for some individuals to help create an inviting space for the table placements for parents, and a stage setting for a Camp theme for the fall and Garden theme for the spring! They also will work to provide special activities once a month with Feast & Family Days at the 5:00 pm St. Anne's Mass and 8:00 am SMHOC Mass.
Childcare Helpers: Help provide care for kindergarten and younger so parents can participate in activities.
