Youth Scholarship Fund Application
The Pacific Edge Youth Scholarship Fund exists to help qualified & worthy applicants to attend a Youth Program Course, Summer Camp, or to become a Member of Pacific Edge Climbing Gym. Scholarship recipients are selected based upon the applicant’s financial need, desire to learn climbing, and/ or special circumstances (a compelling reason why Pacific Edge would be good for the applicant), and letter(s) of recommendation. Once granted the scholorship will be valid for a year at which time the applicant will need to go through the process again.

Potential scholarship recipients must meet the following criteria:
- Ages 8-18 years
- Santa Cruz County resident
- In need of financial assistance
- Be a positive addition to the Pacific Edge Community (good attitude, responsible, safe, self-motivated, work well with others, & psyched about climbing)
To Apply for a Scholarship:
- Applicant (child) needs to write us a letter stating why climbing at Pacific Edge is important to them.
- Legal Guardian(s) need to write us a letter that states why they think this would benefit the child, as well as providing documentation of financial situation.
- A letter of recommendation from a neutral, 3rd party adult (teacher, CASA, Big Brother/ Sister, family friend, etc.)
Once granted:
- Scholarships are dependent upon the child being a positive member of their classes and the greater gym community.
- A scholorshiped child should attend all the classes in a series.
- Be on time for class, follow all safety rules and guidelines, and be respectful and supportive of their classmates and their coaches.
- If they need to miss a session, we expect timely communication from their parent(s).
