*TDA administers several federal and state programs, including the Texas Local Food Purchase Assistance program which aims to connect producers to organizations to increase purchases of local food. TDA hopes to encourage new relationships between vendors (small farmers and food manufacturers) and the buyers. Besides immediate sale impacts, these vendors may be able to expand their brand awareness, not just with the organization purchasing their food products, but also with the end consumer who may continue to seek them out in the future, providing longer term economic impact to the businesses.
