Sometimes discussing traumatic event(s) can retraumatize the effected person and others hearing it. This is why we reccomend if you attend this retreat, that you do not have to and are not being forced to discuss about anything that makes you uncomfortable.

We reccomend to try and focus on the residual feelings (mental, physical, and spiritual), triggers that were created by your trauma. You are also welcome to excuse yourself at anytime of the event to a quite and comfortable location on the retreat premises.

However, some find it cathartic to talk about specifics which we think will happen organically throughout the day.

We want to assure you that this day will not be about focusing on your trauma itself, but rather releasing any pent up feelings that aren't serving us to learn how to recover from future trauma as well has how to rest, since that has become a luxury especially for us as BIPOC. Thank you for your understanding.
