What is Financial Assistance?
GSMISTS is committed to helping all girls participate in Girl Scouting regardless of their family's income. To encourage participation, GSMISTS provides financial assistance to girl members only for membership and basic uniform pieces.
How is Financial Assistance Awarded?
Financial Assistance is awarded based on the income guidelines of the National School Lunch Program. If your girl member is qualified for free or reduced meals through the National School Lunch Program, she will qualify for her membership and or uniform to be paid by GSMISTS. Awarding financial assistance is subject to the availability of funds within GSMISTS operating budget.
Second year troops who have had the opportunity to participate in the Fall "Treats & Reads" Program and the Cookie Program must use troop funds to renew girl memberships. Financial Assistance is not available for girls in returning troops.
Uniform Financial Assistance covers the following items:
Tunic or Vest (Daisy Only)
Sash (Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador)
