Options for Enrollment in College Credit Plus

  • Ohio Revised Code section 3365.06 provides two options for enrollment in College Credit Plus, commonly referred to as “Option A” and “Option B” based on the order in which the options are listed within the statute.

"Option B" is the default option, whereby state funds can be used to pay for tuition, fees and books, and students earn both college and high school credit. No form submission is required for this option.

"Option A" is described in detail below.

  • College Credit Plus (CCP) “Option A”:

  • Students can choose to self-pay for tuition, textbooks, and fees under Option A, provided they meet CCP eligibility and select approved CCP courses.

To choose this option, students must do the following before the college's census date (usually 14 days after semester starts):

    1. Inform their high school of their decision to select Option A and whether they will receive both high school and college credit or only college credit.
      • Credits received will appear on both high school and college transcripts or the college transcript only.
    2. Notify the college about their payment arrangements.
    3. Student will be billed directly by the college at the standard tuition rate, fees, and costs of textbooks.

Note: The chosen option cannot be changed after the census date.

  • Public School Students: The number of CCP hours you are eligible for is determined by the following formula:

30 - (number of High School units X 3) = number of Eligible CCP Hours

    Example: 30 – (6 high school units X 3) = 12 CCP Hours

  • Non-public and Homeschool Students: Please indicate below the total number of funding hours you were awarded for the 2025-2026 school year, according to your funding letter received from the state.

  • Public School Students: Please use the following example when completing the table below:

In this example, if the student had 6 eligible CCP hours, they would select their 6 hours for Option B, and any additional hours would be Option A/ A/Self-pay.

  • Non-public & Homeschool students: Please use the following example when completing the table below:

In this example, if the student was awarded 6 hours from the state, they would select their 6 hours for Option B, and any additional hours would be Option A/ A/Self-pay.
