Boarding Policies and Reservation Request

• Rowan Animal Clinic provides plenty of bedding, bowls, and toys for your pet.  If you choose to bring your pets' favorite toy and/or bed, it should be labeled with my pets' name.  We cannot guarantee that toys, blankets, or beds will be kept in the same condition as brought in.  These items may be removed if your pet decides to destroy the item or to be cleaned if needed.
• All dogs must be on a leash when entering or leaving the premises.  All cats must be in a carrier when entering or leaving the premises.
• Pet owners should indicate at drop off if your pet has been experiencing any medical problems prior to boarding with Rowan Animal Clinic.
• Pets that are boarding together may be separated if they show cage aggression, food aggression or any other unforeseen behavioral change.  This is to ensure the safety of your pet and our staff during their stay.
• WE CANNOT BOARD ANY FEMALE DOG or CAT IN HEAT. Since we may have both neutered and unneutered males on the premises, we cannot guarantee the safety of all boarders if we have a female pet boarding in heat.
• We reserve the right to refuse services to animals we judge to be showing aggressive or threatening behavior

Vaccination:

• All dogs and cats must have current vaccinations.
  • Dogs must be current on the Distemper-Parvo (DHPP or DHLP), Bordetella, Bivalent Canine Influenza, and Rabies vaccinations. 
  • Cats must be current on the FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations. 
• It is the owner’s responsibility to provide updated shot records to Rowan Animal Clinic.

Parasites:

• Any pet that is found to have fleas will given a 24-hours treatment at an additional cost to the owner.

Feeding:

• We recommend that you bring in your food since changing a pet’s food can cause a severe upset stomach.
  • Each meal should be pre-portioned when able. You may also bring treats to be given per your instruction.
  • If you do not provide food for your pet, we will provide a sensitive stomach diet for you pet.  There is a $5.00 per day per pet fee added to your total bill for this service.

Medications:

• Medications, including injections such as insulin, can be administered during your pet’s visit. There is a $5.00 per day per pet medication administration fee added to the total bill for this service.

Medical Incidents:

• In the event that a non-emergent medical problem arises while your pet is staying with us, Rowan Animal Clinic will attempt to contact you, at the emergency contact numbers that were given to us, prior to administering medical treatment. If we have not heard from you within 24 hours, Rowan Animal Clinic will proceed with treatment deemed medically necessary by a veterinarian on staff.
  • Pets that exhibit extreme signs of anxiety or stress (excessive barking, diarrhea, or aggression) will be examined by a veterinarian and treatment may be administered according to the veterinarians’ recommendations for the safety of your pet and our staff.  Rowan Animal Clinic will attempt to contact the pet owner with an update.  The cost for any medication, administration, or treatment will be added to the total bill.
• In the event that your pet has a medical emergency, Rowan Animal Clinic will begin emergency care and then attempt to contact you at the emergency numbers that you have provided unless we have been provided with alternative instructions regarding your pets' care.

• Reservations are required for boarding with a minimum 2-night stay. We request that you give us at least a 72-hour advanced notice from the start of the reservation for any changes.
  • PLEASE NOTE: ONCE YOUR RESERVATION IS BOOKED, YOU MAY BE BILLED FOR THE FULL BOOKING UNLESS YOU GIVE AT LEAST 3 DAYS NOTICE PRIOR TO THE START OF THE RESERVATION.
• Drop-offs do not begin prior to 9:00am Monday - Friday as we are caring for our boarding pets.
  • Drop Off
    • Monday – Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm or 2:00pm – 5:00pm
    • Saturday 8:00am – 11:30am
    • NO SUNDAYS or HOLIDAYS
  • Pick Up
    • Monday – Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm and 2:00pm - 5:00pm
    • Saturday & Sunday 8:00am – 12:00pm and 4:00pm – 5:00pm
    • Holidays 4:00pm – 5:00pm
• We charge by the day, not by the night.
  • Drop-offs that occur between 2:00pm – 5:00pm Monday - Friday are not charged for that initial day.
    • If you need to drop off prior to these times Monday - Friday, an appointment time must be scheduled with our kennel staff.  Drop offs prior to 2:00pm will be charged for the FULL day no matter what time your pet is dropped off.
• On check out day, check outs between 8:00am – 12:00pm are at no charge for the day.
  • Check outs after 12:00pm, are charged for the FULL day no matter what time your pet leaves.
• On holidays (New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day) pickups are only allowed from 4:00PM – 5:00 PM and there is a charge for the FULL day for holidays.

Informed Consent:

• By signing this form, I acknowledge that I have read the above policies in regards to how Rowan Animal Clinic will proceed with the care of my pet(s).
• By signing this form, I understand that my pet will not be directly monitored outside of normal business hours and I assume financial responsiblity for injury, loss, or destruction by my pet regardless of the circumstance.
