The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday, and we can accommodate large school groups. When we have over 15 students, we split the group into multiple smaller groups. These groups then rotate through stations. We are happy to work with each group directly to meet your needs. Each rotation last between 20 to 25 minutes.
Options for stations include:
- Guided tour with museum docent
- Fiber arts: learning to make string with fiber artisan Peggy Clyne (Peggy is not available on Thursdays)
- Guided Food Bank exhibit exploration
- Special presentation (when available, relating to current rotating exhibit)
- Storytime
Generally, we can accommodate three groups of 12 students at a time, plus chaperones. If the entire group visiting the museum is large, we can utilize Riverview Park, only one block away, or make a visit to the library. We know arranging transportation for a field trip can be tricky and we do our best to accommodate larger groups.
The museum opens at 10AM, but we can host school groups as early as 8:30AM. Admission to the Heritage Museum is always free, and donations are gratefully accepted.
