I've discovered waist measurements are more telling when seated. But you will want to begin with holding space on your natural waistline while standing. Let’s go, in natural posture standing position bend to right or left and place your finger in the bend to hold space. Keep holding that space while you have a seat and scoop up a string and or measuring tape. Measure down from the top of shoulder to the natural waistline space you are holding, make a note on this length in inches. Ok perfect, now do the wrap around measure and make a note in inches, this is your HIGH WAIST measurements. Alright awesome and you are still sitting down, great, lets find your HIP measurements. Where the top of your thighs kiss your under abdomen, yes your hip bone is in that section too. Now measure the length down from your High Waist to the thigh abdomen kissing spot and make a length note in inches, do the wrap around catching in all that good hip squish and make a note in inches, this is your HIP measurements. Almost done, let’s figure out the middle, see I told you sitting down is a tell all. Measure down from your High Waist measurement to the fullest abdomen area, near the naval ,and make a length note in inches, do the wrap around measure and make a note in inches, this is your LOW WAIST measurements. Oh fabulous now we can begin to build some flow into your re-fashion design. If you want to draw on the figure to get a visual where you want your skirting to join onto bodice go for it!
