The William E. Simon, Jr. Service & Leadership Award was established in 2016 to highlight the importance of leadership and service, deepen ties between SEA programs in the United States and abroad, and give one graduating college student per year the opportunity to travel abroad and volunteer for an international affiliate of SEA. The award honors William E. Simon, Jr.
Each year SEA invests at least $3,500 to enable one graduating senior to travel to a country where SEA has an international affiliate. The award recipient will spend 10-14 days in the country, and will both volunteer for the affiliate program and have the opportunity to travel around the country. In special circumstances, the recipient may request the chance to volunteer for another U.S. program (instead of foreign), or an international squash and education program abroad that is not yet an affiliate of SEA.
