MARRIAGE LICENSE REQUIREMENT - You must obtain the marriage license from the Clerk of Court office in the parish courthouse at least 24 hours before the officiation of the ceremony. Your marriage license is good for 30 days. For more information, please visit https://stlandry.org/licenses-documents/marriage-licenses.

DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS - A $50.00 deposit is required to confirm your ceremony date and time. Deposit is non-refundable.

PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS - The total balance for officiant services is due in full before the scheduled ceremony start time. Services will not be rendered until payment has been completed.

CHANGE OF CEREMONY TIME - The ceremony time listed in this agreement is considered final. Any change to the scheduled start time must be communicated to the officiant in writing. A $100.00 schedule change fee will be applied for any change made after the submission of this contract, including changes that are not communicated and must be paid in full by ceremony start time. Failure to notify the officiant of a time change may result in delays or inability to perform the ceremony.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Once you have a ceremony booked with me, it means that I have reserved time in my schedule exclusively for you. Please cancel 14 days prior to wedding date. All deposits are non-refundable.

CHANGE POLICY: Changes in date will be subject to a $100.00 change fee. All changes are approved BASED ON AVAILABILITY. Changes must be submitted in writing or via email to notary.jp@karenqsmith.com.

LATE START POLICY - The ceremony is expected to begin at the contracted start time. A delay of more than 15 minutes may result in a $100 late-start fee and could affect the officiant's ability to remain on-site due to previously scheduled ceremonies.

ARRIVAL TIME - You may arrive up to 20 minutes before the ceremony. I also allow time for photos after the ceremony. Everything must be completed within 30 minutes of ceremony start time.

TOBACCO & ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES - No tobacco or illegal substances are allowed on premises. ***If illegal substances are brought in, the police will be called immediately and that person will be escorted off of the property. Ceremony will be cancelled and no refunds will be issued.

GUESTS - Weddings at the JP Office or at the wedding ceremony arbor are limited to the wedding couple and the number of guests in your ceremony package. If this number is exceeded, there will be a $50 per person charge for each additional guest that attends. Wedding will not begin until invoice is paid.

Only bubbles, real rose petals, and bird seed may be used during ceremony or to serenade couple. Rice, silk rose petals, glitter and all non-biodegradable materials are not allowed. If you're unsure if your item is allowed, please call me at 337-852-1705.

PARKING - Parking is limited. I have 4 designated parking spots. Parking is not allowed on the grass areas.

DESIGNATED AREAS - Guests are welcome in the office, around the swing area and at the ceremony area. Guests are not allowed on the back side of the office/shop or on the neighbor's property.

RESTROOM - A restroom is available in my office. Because the space is limited and not intended for changing, please come dressed for your ceremony.

PETS: Pets are not allowed.

OUTDOOR CHAIR SETUP (Petite Elopement Package): Chair setup is included as an option, on request, when ground conditions are safe and stable. In the event of rain or saturated ground, chairs cannot be placed outdoors due to safety concerns and the risk of the legs sinking into the soil and causing a person to fall to ground. If this occurs, the ceremony will proceed without chairs.

TERRAIN NOTICE: This property includes a limestone driveway and a grass ceremony area. These surfaces may be difficult to navigate in traditional high heels. Guests and members of the wedding party are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear, such as flats or platform-style heels, to ensure comfort and stability.

OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT NOTICE: This property is located in a rural area with a natural wooded background. While the lawn is regularly maintained and the grounds are treated for pests, natural outdoor conditions cannot be fully controlled. Insects and other wildlife may be present.
