You must obtain the marriage license from the Clerk of Court offiice in the parish courthouse at least 24 hourse before the officiation of the ceremony. Your marriage license is good for 30 days. For more information, please visit https://stlandry.org/licenses-documents/marriage-licenses.

A $50.00 deposit is required to confirm your ceremony date and time. Deposit is non-refundable.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Once you have a ceremony booked with me, it means that I have reserved time in my schedule exclusively for you. Please cancel 14 days prior to wedding date. All deposits are non-refundable.

CHANGE POLICY: Changes in date will be subject to a $50.00 change fee. All changes are approved BASED ON AVAILABILITY. Changes must be submitted in writing or via email to notary.jp@karenqsmith.com.

Ceremonies are expected to begin at scheduled time. There will be an addtional charge for ceremonies that begin late. $25+ will be charged for weddings starting 10 minutes or more late.

You may arrive up to 20 minutes before the ceremony. I also allow time for photos after the ceremony. Everything must be completed within 30 minutes of ceremony start time.

No tobacco or illegal substances are allowed on premises. ***If illegal substances are brought in, the police will be called immediately and that person will be escorted off of the property. Ceremony will be cancelled and deposit will be forfeited.

Weddings at the JP Office or at the wedding ceremony arbor are limited to the wedding couple and the number of guests in your ceremony package. If this number is exceeded, there will be a $50 per person charge for each additional guest that attends.

Only bubbles, real rose petals, and bird seed may be used during ceremony or to serenade couple. Rice, silk rose petals, glitter and all non-biodegradeable materials are not allowed. If you're unsure if your item is allowed, please call me at 337-852-1705.

Parking: Parking is limited. I have 4 designated parking spots. Parking is not allowed on the grass areas.

Designated areas: Guests are welcome in the office, around the swing area and at the ceremony area. Guests are not allowed on the back side of the office/shop or on the neighbor's property.
