Due to an increasing number of remote workers and the improvement of cameraphone technology, we have decided to allow employees to submit their own portrait photo for the website and will no longer offer portrait sessions to employees each semester.
This form will list requirements and provide suggestions on your portrait, as well as a place below to submit the finished image. Your portrait will be approved by Mar/Com before being posted to your listing in the directory and may be cropped to fit as needed. If the image is rejected, you will need to submit another.
Image Requirements:
- Must be in color
- Must be a recent photograph
- Subject must be in focus
- At least 2000 x 4000 pixels, 72dpi, in portrait orientation
- Can have no one else in the image
- File size must be smaller than 10mb
- File must be a jpg, jpeg, png, gif, or heic.
Suggestions for Best Results (example below):
- Highly recommended on a nature background
- Take outdoors during day with both subject and background in shade
- No direct light on subject or in background
- Avoid lighting that produces heavy shadows on subject
- Have subject at least 2-3 feet away from background so background is out of focus
- Have subject's shoulders not directly square to camera
- Subject should be looking directly in lens
- Eyes should be at the top 1/3rd of image
- Give extra room around subject in image, we can always crop in, but if you take too closely there is nothing we can do.
Most images can easily be taken with a cameraphone, but you can also work with a portrait photographer at your expense if you choose to.
If you are located in the Tucson area, UAHS BioCommunications has portrait services available at very low cost if you are interested.
