  • 2023-24 Home Upgrade Grant Program

Thanks to the support of the Wisconsin Public Service Commission, Revitalize Milwaukee and other partners, Green Homeowners United is proud to offer a limited number of grants up to $8,000 to upgrade the homes of moderate income: seniors (over 60), people with disabilities and veterans across Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties to help reduce energy bill burdens.

  • Furnaces will most likely be the least available option, do you want to change your answer?

Apologies, this project is mainly for insulation but there may be a few slots for emergency furnace replacements. Those who choose attics or basements are more likely to qualify sooner. You can change your answer above if you'd like.
  • Heat pumps will be available in early 2024, do you want to change your answer?

Program will have more funds available for heat pumps starting in 2024, thanks to a new law called the Inflation Reduction Act. You can leave your information here and we can reach out then, or you can change your answer above to enroll in a different benefit sooner!

  • Our apologies, but your home is not eligible at this time

The rules of our program are that you must live in the home for at least 5 years to qualify. Sorry!

  • Partial Pay: What does that mean?

For those that earn within the "partial pay" amount, the grant can cover between 55%-70% of the total project cost (still quite a deal!). The out of pocket cost can be between $1,920 - $2,880, depending on your income and what is done in the home.
