  • Introduction

    We are both hopeful and excited to be welcoming our families back for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  We also know that so much has changed since 2019 when we last ran family and children’s programming.  We are spending the summer developing High Holy Day programming that reflects the new needs and desires of our families.  In order to create the most meaningful experiences, we need you to answer these four simple questions. Your answers will help us learn what you most need out of the High Holy Days.
  • 2) We are looking at several possible in‑person Rosh Hashanah offerings for families with elementary‑aged children (TK-5):

    • A “camp‑style” program with families from both Aliyah and Shomrei Torah, likely held at de Toledo High School, that is geared toward parents AND children. This experience would include a short service (30-45 minutes) plus other holiday‑related activities such as round challah baking, apple/honey tasting, family art, etc.)
    • Drop‑off, children’s‑only programming that would allow parents to attend the main sanctuary service (which would run for up to three hours and align with the main sanctuary schedule)
    • A family service where parents and children attend together (usually runs from 1½ to 2 hours)
  • 4) We are looking at two possible in‑person Yom Kippur offerings for families with elementary‑aged children:

    • Drop‑off, children’s‑only programming that would allow parents to attend the main sanctuary service (which would run for up to three hours and align with the main sanctuary schedule)
    • A family service where parents and children attend together (usually runs from 1½ to 2 hours)
