Adoption Process

SAVE Rescue has an adoption and interview process that allows us to match you with the perfect pet for your family. After your application is received we will contact you for an interview or follow up on information needed to complete the processing of your application. This may be in the form of an email, a phone call or a home visit. Depending on the breed you are adopting, a home inspection via Zoom or Facetime might be required prior to approval for adoption. Once your application is approved you will be contacted by a SAVE representative to schedule a time to meet the pet via pictures, videos and Facetime and for the foster family to answer any questions about the pet, as they have been caring for him/her. They will know about temperament, demeanor and personality. In order for your application to be approved in a timely manner please check to see that you have provided all information and that it is current and correct. Some animals are very popular and receive dozens of applications. While we strive, as unpaid volunteers to respond as quickly as possible, allow a minimum of 2-3 days for processing. Popular dogs may take a week or more. Thank you for choosing to SAVE a life by adopting.
