  • The Cal Poly Journalism Department Internship is a critical part of each student’s professional preparation. Our department wants to assure that you receive a thorough and accurate evaluation by the internship employer. The evaluation helps determine your grade. More importantly, the evaluation helps the department and you understand their professional strengths and weaknesses – and prepare accordingly for your entry into the workplace. As part of this evaluation, and also to evaluate the overall quality of the internship experience, we ask you to answer the following questions and attach or link to a portfolio of your work. Please submit the form to the Cal Poly Journalism Department before your exit interview.

Data collected here is designed to provide valuable feedback to the department about how well it is preparing students to enter the professional world.
