JOB SUMMARY
Gold’s Gym Newburgh is seeking talented, passionate Personal Trainers to join our high-performing fitness team. We are looking for certified personal trainers and/or exercise science students or graduates with a minimum of one year of professional training experience. This opportunity offers the potential to build a rewarding career, develop professionally through in-house education, and earn between $35,000 and $100,000 annually upon achieving full-time trainer status.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct member consultations and assessments to help build your personal training business.
- Deliver safe, effective, and individualized personal training sessions to a diverse clientele.
- Prepare all client programming and arrive at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled sessions.
- Actively participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly personal training department meetings.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, coaching, and member engagement at all times.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client programs, sessions, and progress.
- Continually pursue professional development through in-house and external education opportunities.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and member-ready facility.
- Represent Gold’s Gym positively both inside and outside of the gym, including on social media.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-energy team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Nationally recognized personal training certification (required).
- Passion for fitness and helping others achieve their goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills, humility, and willingness to accept feedback.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, stay organized, and meet minimum performance requirements.
- Computer literacy and tech-savviness.
- Professional, energetic, and team-oriented attitude.
- CPR/AED certification (required upon hire).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of one year of personal training experience in a professional setting preferred
- Degree or coursework in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent work experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the duration of the shift.
- Ability to demonstrate exercises and assist clients with physical movements safely.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Work in a gym environment with varying noise levels.
- Schedule flexibility including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on client needs.
