JOB SUMMARY
Gold's Gym Newburgh and Middletown are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Cleaners/Housekeepers to join our daytime or overnight cleaning teams. This position is critical to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of the gym. Team members are responsible for general and deep cleaning tasks, following established cleaning checklists and protocols.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general cleaning of all gym areas, including locker rooms, workout floors, offices, and public spaces.
- Complete deep cleaning projects on a scheduled basis, including equipment cleaning, floor maintenance, and sanitation of high-touch surfaces.
- Follow detailed cleaning checklists to ensure all areas are maintained to Gold's Gym standards.
- Safely operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and carpet cleaners.
- Restock supplies such as paper products, soaps, and sanitizers as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to management promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work environment throughout each shift.
- Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Provide courteous service when interacting with members, staff, or guests.
- Prepare all assigned areas for the next shift by completing closing or handover responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of basic cleaning practices and safety protocols.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to checklists and schedules.
- Professional, reliable, and team-oriented demeanor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous cleaning, janitorial, or housekeeping experience is a plus but not required.
- Training provided for all cleaning procedures and equipment use.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment up to 30 pounds.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and gym environments with varying noise levels.
- Work with cleaning chemicals (with proper PPE provided)
- Daytime, evening, and overnight shifts available; flexibility required.
- Schedule may include weekends and some holidays.
