Wasatch Community Gardens' 90-minute field trips are available for grades K-6 and include a garden tour, healthy snack (subject to change due to COVID-19), and activities aligned to grade-level science and nutrition standards for the Utah Core Curriculum.
All field trips take place at our Wasatch Community Gardens Campus, located at 629 East 800 South, SLC.
For the 2024 school year, fall field trips requests will be accepted starting in August. Title I schools have a one-week priority booking period from July 25th-August 2nd.
We offer a limited number of $100 bus stipends to Title I schools to help offset transportation costs. Bus stipends are first come first serve. Bus stipends are limited to one stipend per grade level per school. An addressed invoice request will be given to you the day of your field trip.
AVAILABLE DATES: Tuesday-Friday from September 3rd-November 1st, 2024
DURATION: All field trips are 90 minutes long.
COST: Public schools visit the garden for free! Private and charter schools will be invoiced for $60. Title 1 schools are eligible for a fee waiver upon request.
TIMES: Morning trips are 9:30am-11:00am. Afternoon trips are 12:00pm-1:30pm
GROUP SIZE: We have the capacity to host up to 35 students at one time in our garden (25 students for Kindergarten). Please note that if your group is larger than 35 students, you will need to book two field trip sessions.
CHAPERONE REQUIREMENTS: Groups are required to bring 1 adult chaperone for every 10 students (1 adult per 5 students for Kindergarten).
Field trip time slots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. You will receive a notification that your request has been approved or denied within a week of submitting this form. Thank you for your patience.
