Wasatch Community Gardens' 90-minute field trips are available for grades K-6 and include a garden tour, healthy snack (subject to change due to COVID-19), and activities aligned to grade-level science and nutrition standards for the Utah Core Curriculum.

All field trips take place at our Wasatch Community Gardens Campus, located at 629 East 800 South, SLC.

For 2026, spring field trips requests will be accepted starting in February. Title I schools have a priority booking period from February 2- February 16.

We offer a limited number of $100 bus stipends to SLCSD Title I schools to help offset transportation costs. Bus stipends are first come first serve. Bus stipends are limited to one stipend per grade level per school. If you request a bus stipend, you will receive a link to a SLCSD form, please fill it out ASAP to receive transportation support.

AVAILABLE DATES: Tuesday-Friday from March 31 to May 27, 2026.

DURATION: All field trips are 90 minutes long.

COST: Public schools visit the garden for free! Private and charter schools will be invoiced for $75. Title 1 schools are eligible for a fee waiver upon request.

TIMES: Morning trips are 9:30am-11:00am. Afternoon trips are 12:00pm-1:30pm

GROUP SIZE: We have the capacity to host up to 35 students at one time in our garden (25 students for Kindergarten). Please note that if your group is larger than 35 students, you will need to book two field trip sessions.

CHAPERONE REQUIREMENTS: Groups are required to bring 1 adult chaperone for every 10 students (1 adult per 5 students for Kindergarten).

Field trip time slots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. You will receive a notification that your request has been approved or denied within a week of submitting this form. Thank you for your patience.

BUS REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST (SLCSD)

We offer a limited number of $100 bus stipends to SLCSD Title I schools to help offset bussing costs. Bus stipends are limited to one stipend per grade level per school. An addressed invoice request will be given to you the day of your field trip so that you may request a bus reimbursement from WCG.

As the guardian of the group named above, hereby agree to the following: 1. I consent to emergency medical care of group participants by Wasatch Community Gardens and its employees, or healthcare providers designated by them, in accordance with their best judgment. 2. I give permission to Wasatch Community Gardens to use photos, film, and/or quotes of my group for promotional materials, including the Wasatch Community Garden website. I will notify Wasatch Community Gardens of any child that does not have permission to be photographed.3. I understand that Wasatch Community Gardens collects data about the participants’ experiences to use for program evaluation purposes. Participants will be asked about their familiarity with activities, whether or not they enjoyed the activities, and if they would like to share reflections about their experiences. The data collected will not be tied to individuals or personally identifiable to a particular participant. All responses are aggregated and none of the information can be traced back to a particular participant.4. I hereby release Wasatch Community Gardens, its employees, agents and board of directors from all claims for injury to my group or damage to my group’s property which may result from or occur during participation in the garden visit, and I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wasatch Community Gardens and its employees, agents and board of directors for any liability for injury to any person and/or damage to property caused by my group’s negligent or intentional act or omission. General Release and Release Consent for Medical TreatmentAs the guardian of the participants, I hereby consent that my group may participate in the Wasatch Community Gardens Group Visit and hereby state that the information contained herein is true and complete.1. Release. Recognizing the possibility of physical injury associated with Wasatch CommunityGardens Group Visit Program, I hereby release and agree to hold harmless Wasatch CommunityGardens, its employees, agents and board of directors for liability for such injury, including but not limited to medical and legal costs, as a result of my group’s participation in the program.2. Emergency Medical Care. I hereby give my consent for emergency medical treatment by Wasatch Community Gardens’ employees, or health care provider(s) designated by them, in accordance with their best judgment. 3. Insurance. I understand that I should have health and accident insurance to cover injuries that may arise from participation in the group visit.
