• Waimea High School Bring Your Own Device Program (BYOD)

  • Students who choose to bring their own personal devices are expected to have it charged and with them each day they are in school. No loaner device will be issued. Please note that the school assumes no responsibility to ensure the fitness of the device/s for classroom use, nor for any loss, damage, or repair of BYOD devices. It is recommended that skins (decals) or other custom touches are used to physically identify your device from others. Additionally, protective cases are encouraged. If criteria for a student wireless connection are met ( anti-virus software installed on PC laptops ) users must allow school staff to physically access the personally owned device in order to input the appropriate wireless access key. Students who choose to bring their own personal devices do not rescind the school’s right to inspect the device at any time while on school property. Misuse of the network will result in confiscation of the student's device and a parent/guardian will be required to pick up the confiscated equipment.

We agree to the stipulations set forth in the State of Hawaii TRUG ( Technology Responsible Use Guidelines ) and the conditions of the BYOD program for using a personal electronic device

in school. I understand that Waimea High School is in no way responsible for the loss or damage of any personal electronic devices brought to school. The school recommends that you purchase personal insurance to cover your equipment.
