  • Please read all the following carefully. All the game rules & regulations must be follow and adhered.

  • VOLLEYBALL RULES & REGULATIONS

    1. Game Structure
      It is an inter-church tournament, which means all players must be from the same church. No more than 10 players in a team.
    2. 8 team league game. Group stage will be a set of 35 points. 2 teams from each group with the most wins or bigger points difference will advance to the next round.
    3. Each team will play 3 games in the group stage.
    4. Standard volleyball net height will imply which is 7ft and 11 inches.
    5. Players MUST be committed believers, and the pastor must recommend the player to participate.
    6. Non-Christian or non-Nepali players will NOT be allowed.
    7. The organizing team has the right to question any player at any time (prior to or during the game) and disqualify the team if found non-believer/non-Nepali Christian. In such cases, the team will be suspended and the registration fee will not be refunded.
  • Team Composition

    1. Each team consists of 6 players and should not exceed more than 10 players including substitution.
    2. Jerseys are required though numbers or players name are not required.
    3. Libero: The libero is a defensive specialist who can only play in the back row.
    4. Captain: Each team must designate a captain and only the captain can appeal to the referee during the game.
  • Serving

    1. Serving area: The serve must be executed from behind the back line of the court. However if you are jump-serving and you land on court after you serve the ball, it will be considered a valid serve.
    2. Serving order: Players must serve in the order of team rotation or formation in play.
    3. Let serve: An overhead serve that hits the net but still clears it and lands in the opponent's court is considered valid.
    4. Fault serves: A serve that lands outside the court, or does not clear the net, is considered a fault.
    5. An underhand serve that hits the net and still lands in the opponent’s court is considered invalid.
    6. Serve that hits the over-head ceiling will be considered invalid.
    7. Re-serve will be permitted if the ball touches the ground without touching or catches the ball before serving.
  • Rallies

    1. Rally definition: A rally is a sequence of plays that begins with a serve and ends with point being awarded.
    2. Ball in play: The ball is in play from the moment it is served until it is declared out of bounds or a point is awarded.
    3. A player cannot play the ball in succession, unless played once by another player (Exception: One player can make consecutive contact with the ball if initial contact is a block or simultaneous hit with another player).
    4. A team must return the ball across the net within three or fewer contacts. A block does not count as a contact.
    5. Touching the net: Players are not allowed to touch the net with any part of their body during play.
    6. Touching the net or reaching under the net to interfere with an opponent playing the ball. A player may step on the line, but not completely over.
  • Scoring

    1. Point scoring: A point is awarded to the winning team of each rally.
    2. Set scoring: A set is won by the team that first scores 35 points in the group stage will declared winner. The 2 teams with the most wins will advance to the semi fina. Semi-final will be played in the best of 3 sets. Whichever team wins two sets will declared the winner.
    3. Tiebreaker: If the score is 24-24, play continues until one team leads by 2 points.
    4. Final match will be played in best of 3 in sets of 5 with each set of 25 points. If both
      teams have 2 wins then the last set will be played by 15 points.
  • Touches

    1. Three-touch rule: Each team is allowed a maximum of 3 touches of the ball before it must be returned over the net. Players use leg one for a maximum of 3 touches.
    2. Consecutive touches: A player cannot touch the ball twice in a row.
    3. Lifts and carries: Players are prohibited from carrying or lifting the ball, as this constitutes an illegal touch.
  • Rotation

    1. Rotation order: Teams must rotate clockwise after each serve.
    2. Player positions: Players must remain in their designated positions until the ball is served.
    3. Improper rotation will be called out and the opponent team will be rewarded a point and a serve.
  • Substitutions

    1. Substitution rules: Each team will have unlimited substitutions.
    2. Substitution procedure: Substitutions must be made through the substitution zone and will be only allowed on serve.
    3. Substitution can be only made on the serve. If done improperly, it will be considered invalid and points will be given to the opponent.
  • Misconduct

    1. Unsportsmanlike behavior: Players can be penalized for unsportsmanlike behavior, such as arguing with the referee or using excessive language.
    2. Use of any kind of drug substances will not be permitted. Upon acknowledgement, the team will be disqualifie
  • Other Rules

    1. The referee’s decision will be the FINAL decision. If any disputes erupt, only the team captain can appeal. Referees and the management team will make a valid and fair decision.
    2. Time-outs: Each team is allowed 45 seconds timeout per set in group stage and 30 seconds in knock-out round.
    3. Injuries: If a player is injured, they can be substituted out of the game.
    4. Equipment: Players must wear approved volleyball shoes and attire.
  • Volleyball Tournament 

    Term and Conditions:

    1. This is an 8 teams league volleyball tournament.
    2.  Men’s standard volleyball net height 7 feet and 11 inches.
    3. Game will be 6v6 as per volleyball standards, with no more than 10 players in one team.
    4. All players must be from the same church, cannot mix players from other churches.
    5. Upon disclosed discrepancies or complaints , an organizer has a right to interrogate or question the team. If found guilty, the team will be disqualified and no registration fee will be refunded.
    6. Teams must be present at the field 20 mins prior to start time.
    7. All players must be Christian and should not have any non-christian players in a team. Pastor recommendation is required and organization’s verification will be enforced.
    8. Players can be subbed unlimited but only on serve.
    9. Team at least the needs to have 6 players to be considered for the game and cannot have more than 10 players. It's the team's responsibility to be on time for the game. If the team is not available on time, it will be considered a loss.
    10. All teams must bring their own gear and are required to wear during the games (Jersey, kneepads or accessories etc.) Jerseys are required though numbers and names on jerseys are not required.
    11. The organizer is not liable for any kind of personal injury during the events of games. Organizer will Only provide first aid kits.
    12. Registration closes 2 weeks prior to the tournament or once spots are full.
    13. To be considered fully registered team, team must provide their players “Pastor
      Recommendation(Individual), Full Registration, Registration fee”
    14. Registration fee $300 only.

    Organizer reserves all the rights regarding the tournament. The organizer has a right tocirculate further rules and regulations.
