Pure Energy is a performing dance team for grades 4th-6th at FPDS taught by FPDS alum, Anna Grace Brister. Miss Anna Grace is a former competitive dancer with 10+ years of experience, 4 years as a featured singer/dancer in the nationally renowned Attaché Show Choir, and now currently the captain of Mississippi College’s Dance Team/Pom Squad. Pure Energy incorporates technique, terminology, performance skills, and choreography to be executed in the styles of jazz, hip hop, contemporary/lyrical, and modern. This dance group meets on Monday afternoons from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Each practice begins with a devotion and prayer time. Afterward, dancers will stretch, warm up, and work on various skills needed to execute the choreography being taught. Dancers will need to invest in a pair of nude jazz shoes for practices. There will be a showcase at the end of the school year for dancers to perform a production of routines for family and friends. Pure Energy aims to give girls the experience of studio training with the convenience of an afterschool program. 3rd grade students with multiple years dance studio experience may also be considered, however, you must contact Miss Anna Grace to inquire.
