  • JOB DESCRIPTION

    Construction Services/Small Projects Department Manager

    This is a long-term, full-time position with a medium-size construction company. We are committed to safety, including providing and maintaining a drug-free workplace. The candidate
    will be eligible for competitive benefits, such as health insurance, retirement, and vacation pay. Compensation will be based on a holistic evaluation of the candidate on a case-by-case basis.

    Summary

    The Construction Services/Small Projects Department Manager will provide overall management and direction for successful completion of service jobs by responding timely and efficiently to a customer’s need with most jobs completed in one day. Jobs may range from small home repairs to diagnosing and correcting sanitary system problems. The individual in this role is also a member of the
    leadership team and works closely with all departments.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervising the day-to-day operations of the Service Department
    • Identify and diagnose project objectives, scope of work, roles, and responsibilities.
    • Expeditiously plan and execute projects.
    • Communicate project details and timeline to key players (construction lead, customers,
      subcontractors, vendors, and crew), including any changes.
    • Outline and manage the project budget based on requirements and tracking costs to deliver
      as planned (per customer agreement and company profit margin).
    • Consider and mitigate any potential hazards, including those surrounding use of heavy
      equipment for earthwork.
    • Code labor and materials to meet company project specifications in a timely manner.
    • Assist other project managers, facilities maintenance, and/or field crew when service jobs
      are not scheduled.
    • Engage with leadership team in making high-level decisions, provide valuable insight to
      growing company, and develop and execute on company goals.
    • Time will be spent on service/job sites as needed
