• MPSOM Story Submissions

    If you have recently (or are about to) have any news that you would like the Mary Pappert School of Music and/or Duquesne University to consider for publication, please complete the following information. We cannot guarantee that everything will be shared, but every submission will be considered.
  • Examples of stories we could share:

    • You won an award/competition
    • You got a job/won an audition
    • You worked with a community partner on a DEI-related project
    • You released a new album/single
    • You have been published in a journal, magazine, etc.
  • Your DEI story should be related and relevant to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion:

    • Diversity acknowledges differences between community members, with respect to various aspects of their social and musical identities, perspectives, experiences, and other characteristics.
    • Equity takes differences into account in order to help all community members succeed. It involves identifying systems and structures that acts as barriers inhibiting certain people more than others. Equitable musical experiences provide all participants with access, support, and opportunities to be engaged.
    • Inclusion occurs when all community members feel welcome, valued, and safe to engage in the musical environment. Inclusion is intentionally cultivated with deliberate actions.
