On separate pages, provide the information requested below. This must not exceed 8 pages (including the budget page but excluding attached supporting documents). Adhere to the font size instructions (12 point, either Calibri or Times New Roman font).
1. Provide a description of the proposed project or program. Include expected overall goals, results and benefits of the grant. Attach any supporting materials (e.g., news clippings or program announcements). If you, the grant applicant, are an individual artist, performer, expert or scholar, provide sufficient background information on your life and work for the committee to assess the quality and appropriateness of the project in supporting the mission of Finlandia Foundation National. Similarly, if the applicant is an organization, then provide sufficient information about how the organization supports the mission of Finlandia Foundation National. Applications will be scored on innovation and how the project reaches a wide and diverse audience, makes a permanent contribution, involves youth and volunteers, and expands knowledge of contemporary Finnish and Finnish-American culture (not all criteria need to be met).
2. Provide a budget with detailed information about anticipated income and expenses. A complete budget is essential for the committee’s evaluation of your application. If applicable, include expected ticket sales for fees under a section titled income. Also provide a date by which funding is needed. Note that funding generally cannot be provided before May 1.
3. Provide a marketing message and explain how you plan to market the program/project/service and what arrangements you will make to receive media coverage, if applicable.
4. Provide local news outlets and contacts and high resolution photos (300 dpi minimum) that Finlandia foundation National can use for publicity purposes.
