DOC red wine Brunello di Montalcino is produced. Only grapes grown within the boundaries of the Municipality of Montalcino in the Province of Siena in southeast Tuscany are used to make it. The manufacturing region, which is 243.62 square kilometers, is traversed by the Ombrone, Asso, and Orcia Rivers.
