• We've been talking about our theme for the past month: Christ is True Love. Tonight, we have the opportunity to ask and answer the question, how is love displayed? Tonight's passage is one you may have heard at a wedding or seen on a canvas in your mother's living room. But it is so much more than fancy art, it is a verse that shows the characteristics of God's TRUE love for us.

  • 1) You can have  but not   love . (1 Cor. 13:1-13)

  • If Christ is true love, then we should have knowledge of who He has called us to be. But then, we have to actually SHOW it. You can know about it, but not show it.

  • 2) Love is in all . (1 Cor. 13:4-7)

  • In Galatians 5, Paul talks about having the fruit of the Spirit and actively displaying those fruits in our lives. Each fruit has something in common.

  • If we are in love, then we are   in all   .

  • 3) Love is  . (1 Cor. 13:8-12)

  • When material possessions ends, when all those things you have one day pass away, love remains because Christ remains!

  • Also, should always  .

  • 4) Love is a . (1 Cor. 13:13; Mark 12:29-31)

  • In fact, it is the greatest one in all of Scripture. The Ten Commandments even all include love as a part of it. Remember this tonight:  God and     your  ! This is how every Believer should live - and it WILL come out in your fruit! It will come out in how you treat other people! It is a command to live this way, any other way is worthless! Love those around you, and live like a Believer who is consumed by the true love found in Christ.
